My New Home Office
Soon to be my old home office. I’ve begun working from home, in Walla Walla, to ease into the transition of working remotely full time from Seattle. So far so good, but it’s only been one day. Although, in this one day I’ve figured out how to do some excellent SSH port forwarding tricks giving me access to an internal-network-only Jabber server and mounting Samba shared drives. Fun stuff!
Anyway, the reason this home office is “new” to me is that I moved our main desk around shortly after completely clearing it off and packing everything which was being stored on or in it. I’ve been doing a lot of packing lately, though it always feels like I’m not doing nearly enough. Packing is easily the most difficult part of moving. Unpacking can be just as difficult, but going through all of your belongings, ripping them out of their homes and deciding what to keep, what to sell, and what to give/throw away is definitely an expansive challenge.

It’s incredible how much stuff we collect through our lives. It can be fun to see some of the old stuff.
